As we all know that arthritis is a joint inflammatory disorder that causes wear and tear of tissues in the joint bones and cartilages but rheumatoid arthritis is of a specific kind that does not affect the internal joint structure but targets the lining of the joint.
Once this lining starts deteriorating, the joint becomes weak and becomes susceptible to damage, and erodes slowly and steadily. This entire process is painful and acute swelling can be seen in the infected area.
Generally, rheumatoid arthritis is seen in the joints in and around the feet and hands. It involves parts like the wrist joint, joints on fingers, and joints on the ankle.
Rheumatoid arthritis like other kinds too is the result of the misguiding of cells of the joints. When these cells get disturbed they start attacking bodies’ own tissues.
This condition in technical terms is known as autoimmunity. Rheumatoid arthritis is a serious problem and a complete cure to various kinds of arthritis is difficult as one has to fight against own body cells. If the problem persists then the patient can soon start having fevers and fatigue.
It is generally seen that is more common in women than in men. The ratio somewhere is 3:1. Moreover, people in the age group of 40 to 60 are prone to rheumatoid arthritis in comparison to the younger generation.
Though medical science believes that medicines cannot 100 percent cure rheumatoid arthritis but yes they can be kept under control and can be prevented from growing.
